2:30pm to 4:00pm PST.

The English Learner (EL) Alliance at REL West at WestEd brings you an interactive two-webinar series, Effective Practices for Partnering With Families of English Learner (EL) Students in Preschool and Kindergarten, focused on building effective home-school partnerships that support the school success of preschool and kindergarten English Learner (EL) students. These webinars target early childhood education and kindergarten teachers and administrators working with young EL students and their families.

In the second webinar, presenters and practitioners will review the family engagement framework and share practical activities that families can do to support their child’s school readiness. Participants will (1) Increase their knowledge of the structure of a linguistically rich home environment to support young EL students’ school readiness; and (2) Engage in a discussion with presenters about specific activities families can use at home to promote school readiness for young EL students in preschool and Kindergarten, including promoting L1 and L2 at home.
